An after-hours museum. Six objects, two thousand years,
and the small light in your hand.
The night hours
Under museum floodlight, every object looks the same: flat, catalogued, finished. By a single moving light they look the way their makers saw them — by lamp, by fire, by moon. Relief comes back. Gold wakes up. You notice the chisel.
A warm 2,700 K beam, weighted for the hand. There are no other lights in the building until you earn them.
Each relic you document switches on its own exhibit lamp. By dawn, the hall is lit by the people who walked it.
Conversation stops at twelve. What remains is footsteps, the tick of the building cooling, and the objects.
“I have walked past that helmet a hundred times in daylight. At two in the morning it looked back.”
